Industrial Laser Cleaning

Industrial laser cleaning

Industrial clients generally need three things: a defined work area, a repeatable result and a record of what was done. The process is built around those requirements.

Where it fits in a maintenance programme

Controlled laser cleaning is used where abrasive blasting is impractical, where media contamination is a concern, where the work area must remain tightly defined, or where components are too detailed for broad mechanical methods.

  • Cleaning within occupied or operational facilities
  • Component cleaning prior to inspection
  • Surface preparation prior to recoating
  • Localised cleaning around installed equipment
  • Cleaning where abrasive media would be difficult to recover
  • Planned shutdown and maintenance windows

Repeatability and documentation

Parameters established during testing are recorded so the same result can be reproduced across a batch or a return visit. Test records, before and after photography and inspection records can be supplied as part of the project documentation.

Measured productivity from a test area gives a defensible basis for estimating larger volumes of work rather than relying on assumed rates.

Working on operational sites

Work on live industrial sites is planned around access, isolation, fire controls, extraction and permit systems. Project-specific RAMS are produced before mobilisation and reviewed with the site team.

Work on operational and hazardous sites is subject to site-specific assessment and applicable client requirements.
